Edward R. Finkelstein – Counsel

Edward R. Finkelstein serves as Counsel at Tarter Krinsky & Drogin LLP. He has practiced law since 1989 with a particular focus on commercial litigation, asset recovery, alternative dispute resolution, and real estate and title defense-related litigation, including mortgage fraud and equity stripping matters.

Recent representations handled by Mr. Finkelstein have included:

  • Obtaining a multimillion-dollar recovery on behalf of a major financial institution.
  • Assisting a lender in completing a mortgage foreclosure on a Manhattan apartment building by successfully clearing approximately $1 million in mechanic’s liens.
  • Successfully defending a staffing company against a wrongful discharge action brought by a former consultant.
  • Successfully defending a residential property owner against a former owner’s attempts to vacate a prior foreclosure and sale.

Mr. Finkelstein is a member of the New York State Bar Association, serving on its Legislative Committee on Real Property, and the New York State Land Title Association. He has written numerous articles that have appeared in legal publications such as The Cooperator.

Prior to joining Tarter Krinsky & Drogin, Mr. Finkelstein was associated with several New York City law firms, including Chadbourne & Parke LLP, Moses & Singer LLP and Sexter & Warmflash, P.C.

Mr. Finkelstein’s hobbies include studying history, writing and standup comedy.
