Joann T. Palumbo – Counsel
Joann T. Palumbo serves as Counsel at Tarter Krinsky & Drogin LLP. Ms. Palumbo has practiced trusts and estates law with major New York City firms since 1986. She focuses on estate planning and estate and trust administration, including representation of individuals and institutions. She is experienced in Surrogate’s Court proceedings, as well as in estate and fiduciary income tax and estate-related intellectual property issues.
Before joining Tarter Krinsky & Drogin LLP, Ms. Palumbo was a partner in the Private Client Group at Blank Rome LLP. She previously worked at Anderson Kill Olick & Oshinsky, P.C., and Kaye Scholer LLP.
A fellow of the American College of Trust & Estate Counsel, Ms. Palumbo is an adjunct associate professor at Fordham University School of Law, where she teaches trusts and estates drafting. Since 1990 she has co-authored a column on wills, estates and Surrogate’s practice for the New York Law Journal. She also serves as co-chair of the Planned Gifts, Bequests and Endowment Program Committee of the Archdiocese of New York.
Ms. Palumbo graduated from the State University College at Oneonta and earned her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where she was a member of the Law Review. She is a member of the Trusts and Estates Law Section of the New York State Bar Association and served from June 2005 to June 2008 as a member of the Committee on Estate and Gift Taxation of the New York City Bar. In addition, she was recognized for her work in estate planning and probate law in the 2006, 2007 and 2008 New YorkMetro editions of Super Lawyers.
In her spare time, Ms. Palumbo enjoys theater, film and flamenco dancing.
