Steven Troup – Partner

Steven Troup is a Partner at Tarter Krinsky & Drogin LLP. He focuses in the areas of cooperative and condominium law, construction law, real estate transactions, business transactions, and real estate and construction litigation and arbitration. He is also experienced in counseling small businesses, serving their contract, corporate and related needs.

Mr. Troup has been involved in a number of noteworthy cases on behalf of his clients that include:

  • Obtaining insurance coverage for a co-op client from five carriers in a complex intentional tort litigation.
  • Negotiating significant concessions from an investor who bought co-op apartments in bulk.
  • Successfully navigating a sponsor default that resulted in his co-op client obtaining 16 previously sponsor-owned apartments without consideration.

Between 1986 and 1989, Mr. Troup was an instructor at Pratt Institute, Evening Division, teaching cooperative and condominium law. He is a trained mediator, serves on the panels of the Commercial Division of Supreme Court, New York County and the Co-op/Condo Dispute Resolution Project of the New York City Bar Association, and conducts private mediation work.

Mr. Troup is a member of the New York State Bar Association, serving on its Real Property and Alternative Dispute Resolution Committees, as well as the New York City Bar Association and the New York County Bar Association.

Prior to joining Tarter Krinsky & Drogin, Mr. Troup was a partner in the firms Feldman & Troup, P.C. and Tofel, Troup & Partners, LLP.
