Michael R. Wood – Associate

Michael R. Wood is an Associate at Tarter Krinsky & Drogin LLP in the Construction and Real Estate Practice Groups. His practice focuses on drafting construction agreements, leases and other agreements for clients and resolving and litigating complex construction- and design-related disputes. He also works with other attorneys in the Construction and Real Estate Practice Groups in negotiating and structuring major real estate projects, leases, financing documents and other agreements.

In addition, Mr. Wood has represented borrowers in connection with numerous project and construction finance transactions, and has counseled owners, developers and purchasers of distressed assets through acquisitions, refinancings and loan workouts. His recent representations include:

  • Representing a New York City developer in connection with loan workouts and refinancings of several Brooklyn developments with aggregate loan values of more than $17 million, in addition to completing the full lease-up of multiple floors of retail space.
  • Counseling an international development organization in connection with construction claims brought by unit owners of a New York City mixed-use condominium development.
  • Representing a New York City developer in a special proceeding to acquire a license to perform underpinning work on adjacent property, and negotiating a limited access agreement in connection with the settlement of the proceeding.
Before joining Tarter Krinsky & Drogin, Mr. Wood was an Associate at Welby, Brady & Greenblatt LLP, a White Plains law firm, where he represented real estate developers, contractors, architects, engineers and other businesses in real estate and corporate transactions as well as commercial and construction projects and disputes.
