TKD Negotiates Settlement with
New York Attorney General
TKD successfully represented an individual defendant in negotiations to settle a wage and hour action brought against a New York City retailer by the New York Attorney General. The case involved multi-year claims for overtime, minimum wages and penalties on behalf of more than 1,000 current and former employees.
After a state court had frozen the client’s assets, TKD worked with the retailer’s counsel to formulate a strategy that led to the settlement of all claims for significantly less than the amount sought in this high-profile case.
Richard L. Steer, a partner in our Labor and Employment Practice Group, acted as lead counsel in the settlement negotiations with the Attorney General.
