TKD Wins Dismissal of Sexual Harassment
Claim Against Iona College
Tarter Krinsky & Drogin
recently defended Iona College before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) against a former employee’s claim of sexual harassment. TKD obtained a “no probable cause” determination from the EEOC, and the case was dismissed.
The former employee had filed a discrimination charge alleging that she was the target of sexual harassment by her immediate supervisor, and that she was terminated as a result of “not giving in” to his advances. At the EEOC hearing, the college presented undisputed evidence that it had terminated the plaintiff because of her performance.
As general counsel for Iona College, Anthony Dougherty, a partner in TKD’s Litigation Practice Group, handles all of the college’s legal matters.
