Tarter Krinsky & Drogin attorneys Aaron Abraham and Michael R. Wood recently gave a workshop at the New York School of Interior Design on “Legal Issues for Interior Designers: Creating Contracts That Protect You.”
“The vast majority of interior design agreements are based on boilerplate contracts that are often executed with few or no modifications,” says Mr. Abraham. “Our workshop outlined the major issues that interior designers need to understand to protect themselves and their businesses.”
The workshop, part of the New York School of Interior Design’s continuing education program, focused on the pros and cons of form agreements, reviewed the important legal issues that should be considered by designers prior to execution, and suggested appropriate and realistic modifications to such agreements in order to protect designers.
Mr. Abraham is a Partner at Tarter Krinsky & Drogin and co-chairs the firm’s Construction Practice Group. Mr. Wood is an Associate in the firm’s Construction and Real Estate Practice Groups.
