Our Trusts and Estates Practice Group offers the firm’s individual clients a range of practical estate planning strategies, from relatively simple plans to those that are more complex and sophisticated. We are experienced in Surrogate’s Court proceedings, estate and fiduciary income tax matters, and estate-related intellectual property issues.
In addition, many of the businesses that rely on Tarter Krinsky & Drogin for corporate and real estate legal services also turn to us for counsel in trusts and estates and tax law. The Trusts and Estates Practice Group works closely with the Tax Practice Group to meet the estate planning, tax planning and business succession needs of clients who are owners of closely-held businesses.
Estate Planning
We are skilled in preparing wills and trusts and crafting estate plans to match the needs of our clients and their families. We listen closely and draft carefully. We work to minimize the risk of future disputes, to reduce the tax burdens of surviving family members, and most of all to give our clients the peace of mind that comes with knowing that their wishes have been implemented.
Estate and Trust Administration
Efficiency and attention to detail are the hallmarks of our work in estate and trust administration. Our attorneys practice a conscientious and cost-conscious approach to handling the management and disposition of estates, from probate or administration proceedings through final accounting. We counsel fiduciaries and address the needs of surviving family members, providing advice on federal and New York State estate, gift, generation-skipping and income taxes.
