Construction Group partner Laurie Stanziale and Cooperative and Condominium chair Steve Troup published an article for Law360 on “What to Know About Licensing Agreements With Neighbors.” The article outline the key licensing issues to consider when starting construction, repairs or renovations in New York City buildings, as they are very difficult to perform without access to a neighbor’s property either to protect that neighboring property or to have access to portions in order to complete the work. Laurie and Steve note that retaining experienced legal counsel who understands the construction process and these types of agreements and proceedings, as well as an experienced architect or engineer who can assess the work to be performed and the impact on the board’s building, are critical steps in making informed decisions.
