Alex Spizz is a partner and co-chair of the Firm’s Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring Practice. Leveraging over 40 years of experience, Alex provides legal advice that has a breadth of knowledge with a practical business perspective. Alex focuses on bankruptcy law, corporate restructuring, debtor and creditor rights, and complex bankruptcy litigation.
Throughout his career, Alex counsels financially troubled companies both in and out of bankruptcy. Alex represents debtors, creditors, and trustees in the private and public sectors including the retail, manufacturing, real estate, hotels, construction, healthcare, telecommunications, food services, airline, chemical, and energy industries.
Beyond the sectors of business, Alex often represents clients in cross–border insolvency cases. Notably, Alex is currently the Chapter 7 trustee of Ampal-American Israel Corporation an investment company with holdings in the United States, Europe, and Israel. As a Chapter 7 Trustee, Alex took over a case that was administratively insolvent and has thus far collected over $170,000,000 for the benefit of bankruptcy estate.
