Built to Grow

Tarter Krinsky & Drogin was founded in 2001 with the goal of delivering sophisticated legal counsel in a culture built on collaboration, respect, and long-term relationships. 

Across a quarter of a century of dynamic change, the firm has grown with intention, expanding its capabilities, practices, and footprint to meet clients’ evolving needs. The milestones that follow trace that growth—and the principles that have guided the firm from the beginning.

2001 – 2006: A Distinct Vision
  • Firm founded in New York City in July 2001 with 5 attorneys
  • Combined top-tier legal talent, broad capabilities, and a relationship-driven culture
  • Early resilience demonstrated in the wake of 9/11
  • Core practices established: Mortgage Finance, Real Estate, Corporate, Securities, Labor & Employment, and Litigation
2007 – 2019: Momentum Takes Hold
  • Strategic relocation to 1350 Broadway in 2007
  • Grew from 12 to approximately 85 attorneys
  • Added practices, including Bankruptcy, Construction, Italy/International, Immigration, Intellectual Property, Tax, Trusts & Estates, and White Collar & Regulatory Defense
  • First-time key recognitions: Chambers USA and Crain’s New York Business Best Places to Work
  • Joined Lawyers Associated Worldwide (LAW)
  • Established the Go Out & Learn/Lead (GOAL) professional development program  
2020 – 2025: Sustained Growth
  • Expanded from approximately 85 to 140 attorneys
  • Established a multi-office bicoastal footprint: Manhattan; Los Angeles, CA; Princeton, NJ; Garden City and Islandia, NY; and San Antonio, TX
  • Launched “Anchor Days” hybrid work model
  • Formed new practices: Amazon/eCommerce, Cybersecurity & Privacy, Landlord & Tenant, Matrimonial, Art Law, and Healthcare
  • Expanded International Group: German, French, Canada, Turkish, and Benelux practices
  • First-time recognitions: New York Law Journal Top 100, Chambers High Net Worth, Construction Law360 Practice of the Year  
  • Established C-Suite
2026 and Beyond: Leading Forward
  • Launched an Office of AI and Innovation, establishing the firm at the forefront of legal AI in the midsize market
  • Expanded into Florida by opening the Miami office
  • Reached 150 attorneys firmwide
