NEW YORK – September 15, 2022 – Tarter Krinsky & Drogin and USI Affinity will host a joint webinar on “Lawyers’ Professional Liability (LPL) Marketplace - What You Need to Know,” with Tarter Krinsky & Drogin General Counsel and Partner Justin Y.K. Chu and USI Affinity Senior Vice President and Professional Liability and Consumer Practice Leader Michael Mooney both presenting during the webinar.
The webinar, which takes place Thursday, September 22 at 2:00 p.m., will discuss the most commonly overlooked gaps in coverage and provide ways to help mitigate claims before they arise.
“Professional liability is an integral part of my practice, as well as ours at Tarter Krinsky & Drogin, and we strive to provide our clients with thoughtful and effective strategies to help meet their needs. Our goal with this webinar is to outline a foundation for risk management,” Chu said. “We’re excited to strengthen our relationship with USI Affinity and together provide much-needed guidance on this niche area.”
“In my experience working with law firms on insurance and professional liability matters, I have seen a need to deliver guidance and detailed information on what a risk management program can look like – and our ongoing series of programs over the years aims to do just that,” Mooney said. “We’re excited to welcome Justin and Tarter Krinsky & Drogin on this upcoming webinar and give our audience a multi-faceted approach to this topic.”
In addition to his role as general counsel at Tarter Krinsky & Drogin, Chu litigates and acts as general counsel to his clients, including a wide range of professional services firms. He has vast experience in legal malpractice claims, and regularly guides clients through all complex issues that may arise, from relationship and risk management to litigation and arbitration. For law firm clients, he handles conflicts of interest, insurance and claim management, attorney and client entry and exit, attorney disciplinary complaints, and partner and employee relationship management. As part of Tarter Krinsky and Drogin’s Litigation Practice, Chu leverages the Firm’s multidisciplinary team in order to handle any professional liability matter.
At USI Affinity, Mooney’s key focus is the management and development of existing programs, new programs, business development, and marketing planning. He oversees the underwriting, operations, and sales departments that support the professional liability programs. Mooney has broad experience handling insurance and professional liability matters for professional services firms.
