Jennifer B. Zourigui is a partner in the Firm’s Litigation and Labor & Employment Practices. An experienced commercial litigator, she serves as a zealous advocate for her clients both in and out of court. Through creative thinking and a deep understanding of her client’s business, Jennifer implements a tailored strategy that suits her client’s short-term and long-term needs. 

Jennifer focuses her practice on a wide array of commercial litigation in both federal and state courts, as well as arbitration and mediation, including business disputes, employment issues, real estate litigation, and creditors’ rights issues in bankruptcy court.  Additionally, Jennifer counsels clients on a variety of employment matters, ranging from employment agreements and internal investigations to the enforcement of non-compete and non-solicitation agreements.

Leveraging her broad business litigation background, Jennifer represents clients across a vast range of industries, including, for example, financial services, construction and design, healthcare, energy, telecommunications, and fashion.

  • Represented individual owner and multiple business entities defending against landlord’s attempt to collect on a judgment against a commercial tenant through fraudulent conveyance and veil piercing theories.
  • Represented financial institution in FLSA collective action, defending against allegations of joint employer status.
  • Represented a former executive of a multi-billion-dollar corporation in a breach of contract action against former employer seeking change-in-control benefits.
  • Represented an energy company in a class action lawsuit filed by individuals impacted by power outages during Hurricane Sandy, successfully appealing the lower court’s denial of a motion to compel arbitration, resulting in the reversal of the lower court’s decision and ultimately leading to dismissal of the client from the case.
  • Represented financial institutions, landlords, and other businesses in various bankruptcy cases, including proceedings involving preferential payment and fraudulent conveyance claims and the assumption or rejection of executory contracts and leases.
  • Represented educational institution in litigation involving alleged breach of contract in the sale of commercial property.
  • Represented employer in proceedings seeking to enforce non-compete and non-solicitation agreements of former employees.
  • Represented a telecommunications provider in a successful appeal related to a tax dispute with the municipality, securing a judgment mandating the refund of over $2.5 million in excessive taxes levied on special franchise property.
