On October 20, Sean Scuderi was a presenter for the AIA New York program, “The Design Professional's Guide to Avoiding Problems, Claims and Disputes.” The program provided design professionals with tips for avoiding conflict and addressed risks, project management, contracts and insurance policies. In his part of the presentation, Sean discussed the impacts of construction on adjacent properties and how design professionals could minimize their exposure in such situations. He also advised design professionals of the Building Code’s notice, monitoring and protection requirements that their owner and developer clients must comply with to protect neighboring properties.
