Tarter Krinsky & Drogin represented Triangle Equities in their successful bid to acquire and develop two sites in the Melrose neighborhood of The Bronx in New York City from the New York City Economic Development Corporation (EDC). EDC announced its selection of Triangle Equities on May 4, 2011 in a press release. The project, which is located at one of the busiest intersections in the Bronx, where more than 200,000 pedestrians pass through each day, will include a new supermarket, school, commercial office space, restaurants, and other retail and community facilities. Additional information about development plans are available in a Wall Street Journal articled dated July 15, 2001. The project was also highlighted in The Wall Street Journal.
Eric Zipkowitz, a partner in the Real Estate and Construction Practices at Tarter Krinsky & Drogin handled the negotiations with EDC on behalf of Triangle Equities. He will continue to represent Triangle as they move towards closing on the acquisition and in contract negotiations for the design, development, and construction of the reported $35 million project, as well as in contract negotiations with tenants and end-users of the retail, school, office, and community spaces.
