New York (August 19, 2024) – Tarter Krinsky & Drogin LLP is pleased to announce that Duncan Delano, an experienced commercial real estate lawyer who also advises clients on cannabis licensing and regulatory compliance, has joined the firm as a partner. His arrival adds to the continued strategic growth of the firm’s real estate practice and follows the acquisition of a commercial real estate lawyer, three real estate litigators, three construction lawyers, and five landlord and tenant lawyers earlier this year.
“The addition of Duncan to our practice underscores our commitment to serve clients with experienced, business-minded legal counsel who can navigate New York’s dynamic commercial real estate market,” said Alan Tarter, Tarter Krinsky & Drogin’s Managing Partner. “Adding cannabis licensing and regulatory compliance capabilities to our diverse service offerings is a measured growth opportunity for our firm that will benefit our clients, now and in the future. It’s an exciting development for our firm.”
Duncan advises clients on a full range of commercial real estate transactions, including mortgage and mezzanine financing and syndications, joint ventures, commercial leasing, and acquisitions and dispositions of real property and debt. Among his clients are institutional and non-traditional lenders, borrowers, developers, funds, and commercial landlords and tenants.
Duncan’s niche experience in cannabis law includes representing cultivators, processors, wholesalers, distributors, retail dispensaries, and delivery services in obtaining and maintaining cannabis licenses in New York and New Jersey. He also advises cannabis startups and other entrepreneurs in forming, operating, and growing their businesses.
Duncan joins Tarter Krinsky & Drogin from Emerge Law Group, where he was a shareholder. He previously practiced at Haynes and Boone LLP and Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP.
“Joining a well-established and growing firm like Tarter Krinsky & Drogin is an ideal opportunity to continue building my practice and deliver enhanced services to my clients through the firm’s full-service platform,” said Delano. “I was so impressed with the firm’s culture, spirit of collaboration, and appreciation for how my diverse practice can be additive and complementary to the firm’s robust offerings.”
