Brian J. Markowitz is a partner in the Firm’s Construction Practice. Brian focuses on construction disputes, construction contract negotiations, real estate, and commercial litigation. He represents a wide variety of clients – including property owners, developers, construction managers, general contractors, and design professionals – on all aspects of construction and development matters. Equipped to handle both commercial and residential properties, Brian also has niche experience working with developers on affordable housing projects.

Brian has particular experience with contract drafting and review, and he regularly negotiates multi-million-dollar construction contracts, working with clients to mitigate their risks and exposure to litigation during the contract phase. Brian approaches his transactional matters through the lenses of litigation and risk management, so that he can identify areas of potential liability for clients. From case inception through trial, he advises clients through all areas of a dispute, including alternative dispute resolution and appeals, and has vast experience in resolving legal issues, including:
