Caryn J. Block is a partner in the Firm's Real Estate and Commercial Real Estate Leasing Practices. Caryn represents both landlords and tenants in connection with office, retail, restaurant, and warehouse space leases and often handles the real estate components of mergers and acquisitions transactions. Caryn’s work includes the drafting and negotiation of leases and all related lease documentation, as well as landlord and tenant disputes, leasing agency, and brokerage commission agreements, and other property-related agreements and issues.

Caryn’s experience includes the representation of:

  • Building owners in connection with leases and licenses of space to the City of New York for use as shelters for migrants/asylum seekers.

  • Commercial real estate investment trust in leasing transactions in New York City.

  • Hospitality and restaurant groups in connection with the negotiation of office, retail and commissary space leases.

  • International commercial real estate investment company in connection with the leasing of office and retail space in New York City.

  • National insurance companies in the ongoing acquisition of new office space and related leasing transactions across the United States.

  • Property owners in the negotiation of license agreements for television and film productions and advertising campaigns.

  • Property owners in the negotiation of telecommunication license agreements.

  • U.S. subsidiary of an Italian fashion brand in the negotiation of retail space leases throughout the United States.
