Cory L. Weiss is a partner and chair of the Firm’s Landlord & Tenant Practice. Representing clients on all aspects of the landlord-tenant relationship, Cory’s practice has a particular focus on landlord-tenant litigation and rent regulatory law.

Leveraging his experience as in-house counsel to a property management company, Cory provides holistic guidance for clients. With this unique perspective, Cory represents major owners and developers in real estate and leasing disputes, including applications for certificates of non-harassment, commercial and complex residential leasing disputes, Yellowstone injunctions and declaratory judgment actions, and co-op and condo litigation.

As a seasoned litigator, Cory has broad experience in proceedings in both New York Housing and Supreme Courts and has successfully argued appeals before New York Appellate courts. He also represents clients on administrative matters before the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal, the New York City Department of Buildings, and landlord debtor disputes in the bankruptcy court.

Cory advises owners and developers seeking to assemble property for substantial renovation and demolition. He counsels landlords on issues that arise in these processes, including lead-paint abatement, demolition, owner occupancy, succession rights, and non-primary residence.
