On March 8, 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued its first set of public health recommendations for fully vaccinated people: Interim Public Health Recommendations for Fully Vaccinated People.

Included are recommendations for fully vaccinated employees of non-health congregate settings and other high-density workplaces:

• Fully vaccinated employees of non-healthcare congregate settings and other high-density workplaces with no COVID-like symptoms do not need to quarantine following exposure.
• The CDC does, however, still, recommend testing following exposure and through routine workplace screening programs.

What questions do these recommendations raise for employers?

• Do we fall into the categories of non-health congregate settings or other high-density workplaces?
• How do we, in compliance with the law, confirm who is vaccinated?
• Are we utilizing a compliant routine workplace screening program?
