As reported in a number of media outlets, after a seven-hour evidentiary hearing on Friday, January 27, 2023, and over an objection by our client’s secured lenders, our client, New York City Holiday Inn franchisee Golden Seahorse LLC was successful in obtaining approval of its motion for authority to enter into an agreement with NYC Health + Hospitals. As part of the contract, our client’s Holiday Inn FiDi location will now provide much-needed housing and food to asylum seekers under NYCHHC’s oversight. Our client, represented by Scott Markowitz, Rocco Cavaliere, and Alex Spizz, is proud to do its part in helping the City in its efforts to humanely address the sudden influx of asylum seekers in New York City.
