Samuel M. Ofsevit is a Partner in the Firm’s Real Estate Practice. With over 40 years of transactional real estate experience, Sam brings a deep knowledge of real estate to developers and entrepreneurs. He guides clients in sales, acquisitions, and Section 1031 tax-deferred exchanges of commercial real estate including office buildings, multi-family and mixed-use properties, net leased properties, shopping centers, vacant land and development rights, and purchases of commercial loans.
Sam advises borrowers in financing transactions, including permanent and construction mortgage loans, securitized and conduit loans and workouts, and mezzanine loans. He assists landlords in preparing and negotiating triple net leases, as well as leases of offices, retail space in mixed-use buildings, shopping centers, and free-standing retail properties, and tenants in individual leases.
He represents private non-institutional lenders in commercial mortgage lending. Sam also prepares and negotiates organizational documents for corporations, partnerships, joint ventures, and limited liability companies.
Sam has been named to the named to the New York Metro Super Lawyers list from 2015-2024.
