Terence (Terry) K. McLaughlin is a partner in the Tarter Krinsky & Drogin Litigation Group.

 An experienced commercial litigator with a unique blend of senior litigation and in-house corporate expertise, Terry brings nearly three decades of experience in both law firm and corporate settings.  Clients know Terry for his tenacity and exceptional skills in drafting and negotiating litigation documents, while providing high-level strategic advice for navigating complex legal and business challenges.

Terry specializes in managing multi-faceted commercial litigation across all phases, from client intake to trial and appeal. He also counsels C-suite executives on strategic litigation decisions, corporate governance, and risk management issues pertaining to their business.

Throughout his career, Terry has represented clients in a wide range of industries handling complex commercial disputes with particular emphasis in the healthcare sector, franchise and distribution law, real estate, corporate governance, and financing matters. He also has significant experience in restructuring proceedings and a proven record of success as lead trial counsel.

Terry’s work in healthcare has included representing commercial health and life insurance carriers in high-stakes, multi-million-dollar coverage and other contractual disputes with In-Network and Out-Of-Network providers, as well as drafting and litigating pharmaceutical, medical device, and medical data licensing, and distribution and commercialization arrangements.

Terry is seasoned in structuring and litigating issues for healthcare organizations and managed care networks, drafting and structuring clinical study and research arrangements, and negotiating and drafting agreements to share, protect and/or monetize valuable medical data.  He has advised one of the largest hospitals in structuring the relationships between the member hospitals in its branded healthcare system to minimize the imposition of vicarious liability across the entire network.
