Carolyn focuses her practice on creating comprehensive legacy planning and wealth preservation solutions that match the needs and style of high-net-worth families and closely held business owners. She guides clients through complex estate, gift, and income tax issues with a view toward coordinating sophisticated yet efficient transfer tax leveraging strategies.
With over 32 years of experience, Carolyn administers sizable trusts and estates with diverse and complex assets, serving as advisor to corporate and individual executors and trustees in carrying out their fiduciary duties.
Carolyn has successfully represented numerous trustees and executors with respect to charitable and non-charitable estate and trust administrations. She provides guidance from the initial phase of probate through the entity’s final tax filings and judicial accounting. Carolyn has in-depth experience in preparing complex estate tax returns and defending them before the IRS and local taxing authorities. She has secured very favorable outcomes for her clients in matters of income tax, estate tax, gift tax, and generation-skipping transfer tax.
Carolyn brings to her practice a background in English literature, a love for poetry, and a passion for optimizing and preserving clients’ wealth goals. She contributes to multiple transfer tax publications and presents at seminars on topics related to trusts and estates law. Carolyn has been recognized as a Super Lawyer and a Best Lawyer.
