Steven Troup, chair of the Cooperative and Condominium Practice. was quoted in the January 2013 issue of The Cooperator. The article titled “The Ultimate Do It Yourself Project” addresses the advantages and disadvantages of a coop board or homeowners association choosing to self-manage a property.
Steve advises boards that have an interest in self-management to outsource at least some of the operations to a managing agent. He noted that “it doesn’t have to be a full-service managing agent, but someone who can collect the rent and oversee projects.”
