Sandra A. Hudak is a partner in the firm's Intellectual Property Practice. Her practice focuses on all areas of IP law including patents, trademarks, copyrights and unfair competition. Sandra assists clients in protecting and enhancing their intellectual property portfolios.

Sandra is actively involved in all stages of litigation, from pre-suit activities through appeal. She has experience representing clients before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in proceedings such as inter partes reviews and covered business method reviews. In addition, Sandra handles trademark disputes in both federal courts and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, involving issues such as fair use, extensive third-party use, the use of house brands, the use of color as a trademark and the sale of grey market goods. Her appellate experience includes drafting party and amicus briefs for the U.S. Supreme Court, the Federal Circuit, and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

Sandra is experienced in the IP issues faced by both brand owners and third-party sellers on online marketplaces like Amazon. She assists clients with enforcing their IP rights on online marketplaces, as well as responding to false rights owner complaints to reinstate taken down listings. She also has experience representing clients in Amazon Neutral Patent Evaluations and arbitration with Amazon.

A registered patent agent, Sandra assists in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, drafting patentability and right to use opinions, and negotiating and drafting settlement and license agreements. Among other topics, Sandra has focused on subject matter eligibility under 35 U.S.C. § 101 in patent law. Her patent experience covers a diverse range of technologies, including computer software, consumer electronics, consumer products, financial services, internet marketing, and therapeutic agents.

Before practicing law, Sandra worked in the pharmaceutical and biotechnical industry; she continues to use this background today to assist clients.
