NEW YORK (January 13, 2021) – Tarter Krinsky & Drogin, a full-service, mid-size law firm, announced today that it has expanded its Intellectual Property Group, continuing its strategic growth plan for the year ahead with the addition of a highly-skilled three lawyer team. Our IP group assists clients in protecting and maximizing their intellectual property assets. These new members enhance Tarter Krinsky & Drogin’s capabilities in patent and trademark disputes and prosecution, among other areas. In particular, the group will further expand our Amazon Marketplace and Online Intellectual Property Disputes Sub-Practice, which navigates complex IP disputes that arise in the online marketplace and is spearheaded by Partner Mark Rosenberg. The lawyers joining the firm are:

  • Mark Berkowitz (Partner): Mark concentrates primarily on intellectual property and e-commerce litigation. An experienced litigator, he represents clients in all phases of patent and trademark cases from pre-suit investigations through appeal. Mark also focuses on counseling e-commerce merchants on the unique legal issues they regularly face, including handling intellectual property and contract disputes that arise in connection with selling products on Amazon.com.
  • Tuvia Rotberg (Partner): A registered patent attorney, Tuvia focuses his practice on patent and trademark prosecution. With a master’s degree in biotechnology, he is well-placed to assist clients in the technological and scientific arenas of IP law. He has prepared and prosecuted patents for medical devices, diagnostic platforms, scientific devices and consumer products, among others. Tuvia also has significant experience assisting Amazon seller clients with intellectual property issues that arise on the Amazon platform.
  • Sandra A. Hudak (Associate): Sandra, a registered patent attorney, practices in all facets of intellectual property law including copyrights, trademarks, patents and unfair competition. She has experience litigating matters before federal courts (including the U.S. Supreme Court) and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (at both the Patent and Trademark Trial and Appeal Boards). She also has experience representing clients in Amazon Neutral Patent Evaluations and arbitration
    with Amazon.

“We are excited to add this remarkably talented team of intellectual property lawyers to our firm. Their experience will add to our existing IP practice and to the firm as a whole. Looking ahead, we are well-positioned to leverage the skills of Mark, Tuvia and Sandra on e-commerce intellectual property disputes, a growing area of focus for Tarter Krinsky & Drogin,” said Alan M. Tarter, Managing Partner.

Intellectual Property Group Co-Chair Amy B. Goldsmith notes “Mark, Tuvia and Sandra make a great addition to our team. My Co-Chair, Phil Braginsky, and I are incredibly enthused to have them join us. The trio are highly experienced lawyers who have consistently provided excellent results for clients. Their onboarding means our team can offer enhanced services and continue performing cutting-edge work for our clients.”

The group joins the firm from intellectual property boutique Amster, Rothstein & Ebenstein LLP.
