Zaid Shukri is a Partner in the Firm’s Litigation practice. He is a skilled trial and appellate lawyer who represents clients in high-stakes commercial disputes across industries such as real estate, financial services, media, entertainment, and fashion. He has litigated cases in state and federal courts on behalf of real estate developers, angel investors, construction firms, apparel manufacturers, and major financial institutions.
Zaid has achieved optimal results in cases involving a wide range of claims, including fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, veil piercing, tortious interference, discrimination, unfair competition, copyright and trademark infringement, and breach of contract. Additionally, he has successfully litigated contested probate and estate matters in Surrogate’s Court, as well as proceedings before the American Arbitration Association, New York City Commission on Human Rights, and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Zaid’s notable representative matters include:
- Represented plaintiff investor through trial in Delaware Court of Chancery on claims against LLC’s controlling members and managers for fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, civil conspiracy, and breach of contract, resulting in multi-million-dollar judgment and award directing reimbursement of client’s attorneys’ fees based on defendants’ bad-faith litigation conduct, and successfully argued for affirmance before the Supreme Court of Delaware
- Obtained on behalf of real estate developer complete dismissal of claims seeking $10,000,000 in damages for alleged unfair competition and tortious interference concerning a deal to purchase and develop property in downtown Brooklyn
- Defeated motion to dismiss veil piercing and alter ego claims against judgment debtor’s individual shareholders in federal court, resulting in favorable settlement
- Obtained complete dismissal of investors’ claims of mismanagement against real estate development LLC and its managers in private arbitration before the American Arbitration Association
- Successfully represented film distributor on contributory copyright infringement claims in U.S. District Court for Southern District of New York
