For employers across various sectors, it’s critical to have trusted counsel guiding them through every phase of their business. Serving as a partner to our clients, we approach every situation creatively and smartly to ensure our clients’ needs as employers are met and protected.
Tarter Krinsky & Drogin’s Employment Practice assists clients at all stages of the employment relationship such as advising clients on initial applications, interviewing, hiring, and classification of employees and independent contractors. Our team:
- Drafts and interprets employment contracts, including executive compensation, benefit agreements, and staffing contracts
- Drafts severance, separation agreements, WARN notices, and confidentiality agreements, including those arising from reductions in force
- Provides strategic counseling on day-to-day employment issues as they arise, including employment discrimination complaints, workplace investigations, OSHA investigations, and litigation avoidance
- Provides training and policy guidance to employers including compliance with the wide variety of laws and regulations covering the employment relationship
When litigation is necessary, we litigate before state and federal courts in a number of jurisdictions as well as government agencies such as the EEOC, New York State Division of Human Rights, New York City Commission on Human Rights, United States Department of Labor, New York State Department of Labor, and the New Jersey Department of Labor. Our practice group has been successful in winning a number of precedent setting summary judgment motions in important employment areas. We regularly defend cases brought as single plaintiff cases as well as those brought as class and collective actions.
In addition to defending employers in employment discrimination, wage and hour, and unfair labor practice litigations, we defend managing agents, building owners, and landlords in housing discrimination and ADA public accommodation cases. Our team defends academic institutions including private and public schools, colleges, and universities, as well as public sector jurisdictions. We are panel counsel or approved counsel for a number of major insurance carriers defending their policy holders in employment practices liability insurance (EPLI).
