The U.S. Department of State (DOS) announced on May 7, 2022, that it had selected this year’s Diversity Lottery (DV 2023) applicants. Since the DOS does not notify winners, entrants who submitted within the mandatory time frame in October 2021 may check the website and assure if they were selected or not. The Diversity Lottery website can be found here. In 2020, more than 13 million people around the world applied for the green card lottery, including applicants and their families.
If one has been selected in this year’s lottery, the Entrant Status Check website will furnish information regarding proceeding with an application for U.S. residence for those located in the United States, or alternately, if located abroad, furnishing instructions to commence an immigrant visa application utilizing the Department of State’s website. The processing of residence or granting of an immigrant visa must be complete by September 30, 2022.
The incidence of fraud is high as relates to this program and detailed fraud information can be found on the Federal Trade Commission website here. Additionally, the DOS also provides information for applicants to assure that they are able to avoid fraud in this specific program here.
