On December 12, Intellectual Property co-chair Amy Goldsmith and Litigation counsel Joel Rosner will present a Lawline CLE webcast, “Knockoffs and Takedowns: Protecting IP Rights on Social Media.”

During this program, Amy and Joel will explore how to determine what IP rights exist with respect to an infringed product, how to remove knockoff products from social media platforms and how to take other legal measures to stop the infringement. They will highlight the functional aspects of conducting social media searches, record keeping and data management and submitting takedowns, as well as the approaches of takedowns on various platforms and overcoming rejections. Additional topics include counter-notifications under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and alternatives to takedowns, including cease and desist letters and targeted lawsuits.
